Local Restoration Project

I created conceptual architectural plans using Rhino to restore and repurpose a circa 1920’s structure at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Del Prado in my hometown of Dana Point, California. As shown in the photo below, this structure was the former selling office for land tracts in Dana Point. Later, it housed several retail stores, including the U.P. Sports store referenced in the photo, but it has been vacant for a number of years.

I proposed expanding the existing structure and building a new structure on the vacant lot across the street, combining the two buildings by a pedestrian bridge, and forming a community dining and retail center, known as Mariner’s Market. By preserving the 1920’s architectural details, the complex pays homage to our community’s maritime roots and lets this former hub of Dana Point shine again.
